It was a perfect Saturday morning in 2022. The lake was calm, the sun was shining, and I had one goal: rent a kayak for a few hours. What should have been simple turned into a 3-hour nightmare.
Every rental shop was either closed, fully booked, or required a full-day rental for $200+. I watched dozens of kayaks sitting unused in driveways and garages, while I—and countless others—couldn't access the water.
"The equipment existed. The demand existed. But there was no bridge between them."
That frustration became BuoyShare. Not just a rental platform, but a movement to democratize water sports—making every lake, river, and ocean accessible to everyone, regardless of budget or storage space.
